Academic Experience

Challenging Courses

DCA offers 17 honors and AP® courses across a wide range of subjects, as well as a dual-enrollment partnership with Jessup University, Grand Canyon University, and Los Rios Community College District. These courses allow our students to explore their love for learning at a deeper level by exposing them to college-level material.

A Pathway to College

As a college preparatory school, DCA has invested in the school curriculum and academic rigor that sets our students up for success. We keep a constant focus on instructional practices and academic innovation to ensure our course offerings are not only challenging but also meet the needs of our students in an ever-changing world.

AP® Testing

DCA, in conjunction with College Board, offers Advanced Placement (AP®) programs that present college-level curricula and examinations to high school students. Most colleges and universities often grant placement and course credit to students who obtain high scores on the examinations. All students enrolled in an AP® course are required to take the AP® Exam , which will take place in the spring semester. Students will need to register for their AP® Classroom with their teacher and will need to pay for each individual test they take.

California Scholarship Federation

DCA is part of the statewide organization of the California Scholarship Federation (CSF). The main objective of this organization is to recognize aspiring, young citizens of California who possess outstanding standards in academic scholarship, community service, and citizenship. Membership is on a semester basis based on grades earned from the previous semester. Eligible students must apply each semester.
