Derek Burkhalter

School Board Member

Derek Burkhalter is a partner in an actuarial consulting firm and holds a degree in Mathematics from California State University, Sacramento. Raised in the Sacramento area, he accepted Christ at an early age and has remained committed to growing in his
faith throughout his life.
He and his wife, Julie, have been married for 20 years and have one son, Jordan. Their family attends Destiny Christian Church, and they have deep ties to the school community, with several nieces and nephews having attended what is now Destiny
Christian Academy.
Derek’s primary focus is supporting DCA by fostering an enriching social and academic experience and seeing students grow into mature followers of Christ, both during their time as students and into adulthood.
